Teen Mental Health First Aid

In partnership with the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and the Born This Way Foundation, we offer Teen Mental Health First Aid (tMHFA) to equip young people with the tools to support their mental health and recognize when a friend may need help.

Tailored for students in grades 10–12, this program helps teens build the knowledge and confidence to support one another and seek help from trusted adults when needed. Led by certified instructors in a safe and engaging environment, participants explore real-life scenarios, learn effective communication strategies, and better understand how to respond when a friend might be struggling.

The goal of tMHFA is not to train teens to diagnose or treat mental health issues, but rather to equip them with practical tools and resources to provide initial support and connect someone with appropriate help. The program also encourages healthier coping strategies, reduces stigma, and promotes a more supportive school and community culture. Students who complete the training receive a certificate and leave empowered to be advocates for mental wellbeing.
